Monte Engler, Chair of the Corporate Department, has been engaged in the practice of corporate and business law for over 30 years. During the past 20 years, Mr. Engler's practice has focused largely in the telecommunications field, with numerous clients in the radio paging, telephone answering service, voice mail, and cellular telephone fields. He was one of the founders of and counsel to the company that was ultimately sold to AT&T Wireless, providing cellular telephone service in the New York Metropolitan area. He was, for many years, general counsel to the Radio Common Carriers of New York, Inc., the statewide trade association of the radio paging industry.
The remainder of Mr. Englers clients include numerous entrepreneurial businesses and several public companies. Representative industries include the modeling field, fashion industry, linen supply, fabric and uniform manufacturing, direct mail, and numerous other businesses in various fields. Mr. Engler has extensive experience in the negotiation and completion of a multitude of transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and private and public financing at various levels. His practice includes the counseling of clients at all levels of their representative business operations and dispute resolution assistance among shareholders of privately held corporations.
