George Fearon is Chairman of the Entertainment Law department. His practice encompasses Transactional, Entertainment and Intellectual Property law including copyright infringement litigation.
Transactional: Representation of individuals and corporations in all aspects of the music industry including recording, live performances, music publishing and administration, licensing, management and merchandising. Serve as administrator of major catalogs of sound recordings and musical compositions. Representation of individuals and corporations in connection with the acquisition and sale of catalogs of songs and sound recordings. Representation of actors and independent film producers and authors of literary works. Representation of advertising agencies in intellectual property related matters.
Copyright Infringement Litigation: Representation of authors and publishers in litigations involving the infringement of copyrights to musical compositions and other copyrighted works.
Mr. Fearon joined Phillips Nizer in January 1973, was elected to partnership in 1978 and was appointed Chairman of the Entertainment Department in 1992.
