Christian Khoury is an associate in our Corporate Law Department. He concentrates his practice on advising foreign companies, mainly French, in structuring new ventures, acquisitions and other vehicles for making commercial investments in retail, financial, equipment, and energy sectors of the U.S. economy.
Raised in Montréal and having lived and worked in Paris, Christian is a Francophone who has been a great addition to our French Practice. In addition to his native tongues of French and English, Christian is also fluent in Arabic, Spanish and Italian, and has a basic knowledge of both German and Mandarin Chinese.
Christian earned his civil law degree at the Université de Montréal (LL.B.), while simultaneously studying for his Common Law J.D. Later, he obtained an LL.M. in common and transnational law, specializing in Asian markets, mainly Chinese. In fact, Christian lived in Shanghai, China, where he completed his research for his masters’ thesis.
During his studies, Christian was fully involved in organizing the Model United Nations competitions at McGill University, Montréal and at the UN Headquarters, New York, where he was granted seven awards. Christian also studied abroad, where he focused on European law in Lyon, France and environmental law in Helsinki, Finland. Moreover, Christian served as Secretary General and Editor for the Quebec Journal of International Law.
Christian's previous law firm experience includes the corporate department of Lette & Partners (Montréal office), and prior to joining Phillips Nizer, he worked at the international Paris-based law firm Alérion in France for two years.
Throughout these academic and professional achievements, Christian gained extensive knowledge in French, European, Canadian and Chinese law, combining his experience, linguistic capacities and legal education.
Christian was admitted to the New York Bar in July 2011.
