Sheldon Rudoff is a partner at Phillips Nizer LLP. For several decades, Mr. Rudoff has serviced a broad range of prominent family-owned businesses in the food, apparel, accessories, housewares, electronics, real estate development, advertising, transportation, health care and travel industries.
His practice is concentrated in corporate and commercial law and particularly in effectuating mergers and acquisitions, purchasing, selling and financing commercial and residential real estate, counseling and organizing privately owned business entities, licensing and estate planning.
Mr. Rudoff has also developed an expertise in the not-for-profit area of the law and is often consulted and retained by private foundations, public charities, and educational institutions. He has been actively involved in communal activities for many years and currently serves as Honorary President of the Beth Din of America (where he serves as a judge) and the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, Chairman of the Board of a summer camping agency of UJA-Federation, a member of the Board of Directors of Yeshiva College, Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Conference on Claims against Germany and a member of the United Jewish Communities audit committee.
Mr. Rudoff is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the New York State Bar Association, the Federal Bar Council and the American Bar Association.
He earned a B.A., cum laude, from Yeshiva University in 1954 and a J.D., magna cum laude, from the New York University in 1958. Mr. Rudoff is admitted to practice in New York, as well as before the United States Supreme Court, Second Circuit Court and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
