Phillips Nizer and AAFA Hold Joint Program Featuring Hal Stratton
Phillips Nizer LLP and the American Apparel & Footwear Association's
(AAFA) Childrenswear Division hosted a reception and program with special guest, Hal Stratton, Chairman of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on the evening of Thursday, March 9, 2006 at the New York City office of Phillips Nizer. Mr. Stratton was invited to speak to industry representatives on product recalls and current apparel and footwear issues.
Mr. Stratton, who was nominated and confirmed to the post in July 2002, heads the 500-person agency. The U.S. CPSC is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risks of serious injury or death from more than 15,000 types of consumer products under the agency's jurisdiction, including apparel and footwear. Deaths, injuries and property damage from consumer product incidents cost the nation more than $700 billion annually.
