Caitlin Breen
Associate
Caitlin is an Associate in the Employment & Labor Practice at Phillips Nizer LLP
Caitlin represents management in many areas of employment law and labor law. Caitlin assists clients with day-to-day employment issues such as workplace practices and policies, handbooks, employee discipline and termination, employment contracts, and compliance with the many federal, state, and local laws. Caitlin has substantial experience in employment matters throughout all phases of litigation. She handles wage and hour disputes, charges of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation; issues concerning leaves of absence and other employee benefits, and other workplace matters that may arise for employers. Caitlin is seasoned in the area of traditional labor law; she handles labor arbitrations, provides advice involving the application and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements and negotiates settlement agreements.Caitlin began her career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office. Following her time as a prosecutor, Caitlin served as the Court Law Clerk for the Eastern District of New York, where she participated in a program aimed at reducing case backlogs across the Eastern District of New York. From there, Caitlin worked as an Agency Attorney in the Office of Labor Relations and Collective Bargaining for the New York City Department of Education.
Caitlin holds a J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law, where she was a senior staff member of the St. John’s Law Review.
