New YorkEthan Smith is an associate at Phillips Nizer LLP in the Litigation Practice Group.
Ethan's litigation practice spans a range of complex civil and criminal matters in which he represents clients in all stages of litigation and arbitration, including drafting pleadings, conducting pre-trial discovery and motion practice, and appeals.
He represents both individuals and businesses in a wide range of commercial disputes involving business torts, breaches of contractual and commercial lease obligations, and the enforcement of money judgments. He has counseled clients on issues involving fraud, FCA violations, and New York State Insurance Law and Lien Law. He recently co-authored an article on the current landscape of Patents on Blockchain Technology. He is a creative and zealous advocate, and is dedicated to helping his clients achieve pragmatic solutions.
Ethan holds a J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he served on the Executive Board of Cardozo’s Moot Court Honors Society, and worked for the Securities Arbitration Clinic where he initiated and worked significantly on FINRA arbitration proceedings and CFTC reparations proceedings. Additionally, Ethan has experience working in the Labor Bureau of the New York State Office of the Attorney General. He holds a B.S. in Sports Management from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a minor in Business.
