About

We deliver sophisticated legal services at cost-effective rates, giving our clients peace of mind by fiercely safeguarding and promoting their interests at every turn. We call it Resourceful Representation®.

Phillips Nizer, founded in 1926, is a full-service, mid-size law firm representing domestic and international clients in business, finance and real estate transactions, intellectual property matters, employment and labor law matters, commercial litigation, tax and estate planning, and private client services, with a particular focus on the entertainment, fashion, real estate and technology industries.

Phillips Nizer is a mid-size firm – by choice. Our lawyers know each other well and enjoy practicing together on important and challenging legal work for valued clients. Our talent and experience allow us to handle virtually any matter, large or small, in any subject area. We are nimble, flexible, creative and adaptable – traits required by the fast-paced and evolving world in which lawyers practice today.

We listen to clients, work with them to develop plans of action, and then implement the resulting strategies skillfully and efficiently. And, we stay with assignments until they are completed to our clients’ satisfaction. We are not afraid to pursue new or different paths, but we also avoid reinventing what already works well and is otherwise suitable.

At Phillips Nizer, the client always comes first. This is true today, and it has been true since the firm was founded more than 90 years ago. That helps explain why the firm, and many of its lawyers, have been recognized as top practitioners by leading commentators and publications assessing legal qualifications and credentials.

Phillips Nizer is proud to have achieved Midsize Mansfield Certification "Plus" status. The overall goal of the Midsize Mansfield Rule is to increase the representation of diverse lawyers in leadership by broadening the pool of women, LGBTQ+ lawyers, lawyers with disabilities, and/or racial/ethnic minority lawyers who are considered for entry-level and lateral attorney job openings, leadership opportunities, equity partner promotions and opportunities to connect with clients.

The firm has offices in New York, New Jersey and Geneva, Switzerland.
