Three Members of Phillips Nizer's Trusts & Estates Team Selected as "Best Lawyers"

Donald P. Perry, Michael W. Galligan and Howard Bindelglass Recognized in Annual Listing
Trusts and estates attorneys, Donald P. Perry, Michael W. Galligan and Howard Bindelglass, have been selected as three of the New York Area's 2009 "Best Lawyers". Published annually by Best Lawyers in America (www.bestlawyers.com), selections are a result of nominations, including by those selected in the previous year, and polling, which involves the use of surveys by practice group and industry peers.
Donald P. Perry is a partner and chairs the Trusts & Estates Department at Phillips Nizer. Mr. Perry's practice encompasses lifetime giving and estate planning, the drafting of both simple and complex wills and trusts and various types of estate planning agreements, the representation of individual and corporate executors and trustees in the administration of estates and trusts, including informal and judicial accountings, will contests and construction proceedings. He is involved in the preparation of estate and gift tax returns and has handled numerous Federal estate tax audits both at the agent and appellate level. He also advises his clients with respect to the planning for charitable gifts, both outright and in trust. Mr. Perry is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York ("City Bar"). He has been a member of the Estate Planning Council of the City of New York since 1999.
Michael W. Galligan practices primarily in the areas of domestic and international estates and trusts and related estate and income tax and immigration planning. Mr. Galligan is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, an Academician of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP-USA), and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. In 2008, he was elected Chair-Elect of the International Law & Practice Section (IL&PS) of the New York State Bar Association, where he previously served as Executive Vice-Chair. He also co-chairs the IL&PS's Committee on International Estates and Trusts and is a past chair of the Committee on International Estate Planning of the Trusts and Estates Section of the New York State Bar Association.
Howard Bindelglass is counsel at Phillips Nizer where he concentrates his practice exclusively in the field of trusts and estates, with heavy emphasis on estate planning. Mr. Bindelglass is a former law assistant in the New York Surrogate's Court, Queens County, and is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. He has also been a member of the Committee on Estate and Gift Tax of the American Bar Association and of the Committees on Estate and Gift Tax and Trusts, Estates and Surrogates' Courts of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
