Jackson, chair of the firm’s Technology Practice and member of the Litigation Department, was a contributor to the American National Standards Institute report, The Financial Impact of Breached Protected Health Information: A Business Case for Enhanced PHI Security. Published in partnership with The Santa Fe Group Shared Assessments Program Healthcare Working Group and the Internet Security Alliance, the report provides health care organizations with a tool to evaluate the “at risk” value of an organization’s protected health information and an estimate of its overall potential data breach costs, as well as a methodology for determining an appropriate level of investment needed to strengthen privacy and security programs and reduce the probability of a breach occurring.
