Phillips Nizer partner David Prager successfully resolved a demand for payment of almost $200,000 by a Medicare collection agency against a major fashion client of the firm. 

The agency incorrectly believed that an employee's spouse was covered under a union-sponsored health plan in which the employer participates, and therefore, was entitled to Medicare.  Prager was able to demonstrate by healthcare contribution records that the employee's spouse was not a covered dependent under the health plan.
