Phillips Nizer’s Alan Behr and Monica McCabe Selected by World Trademark Review as Top Trademark Lawyers for 2018

Phillips Nizer is pleased to announce that two partners were selected as top attorneys in The World Trademark Review’s 2018 rankings of Top 1000 lawyers.

Alan Behr, Chair of Phillips Nizer’s Fashion Practice, and Monica McCabe, Chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice, were both recognized for their work.

Mr. Behr was specifically cited as “intelligent, cost-sensitive and efficient.” He was also praised as “easily reachable, honest and strategic, and has strong ties to contacts around the world, especially in Europe.”

Ms. McCabe was touted as one of the “fan favorites.” Noted as “practical and reliable,” clients praised her assistance as “consistently flawless and delivered on time”. She is “always attentive and logical, and focuses on achieving great results for her clients.”

Mr. Behr handles fashion, international intellectual property and entertainment law issues. He has handled anti-counterfeiting, trademark enforcement and IP protection activities for luxury and general market brands. He was also formerly Atari, Inc’s General Counsel. Mr. Behr writes the popular Fashion Industry Law Blog and has previously been included in WTR 1000.

Ms. McCabe supervises the prosecution and maintenance of trademarks; represents clients in the protection, purchase or sale, assignment and licensing of intellectual property portfolios and domain names; counsels clients on new media issues, rights of privacy and publicity. Ms. McCabe has handled notable cases involving copyright, trademark; unfair competition, trade dress and trade secret violations. 

Ms. McCabe’s transactional expertise includes celebrity endorsement and special event performance agreements; music industry and film finance deals; book publishing and distribution deals, and film option and television programming deals. She has negotiated and drafted license, royalty, trademark, music recording, music publishing, producer, copyright, illustrator, film, software, Internet, trade secret, non-disclosure and other intellectual property agreements.
