PHILLIPS NIZER COUNSEL AND FORMER APPELLATE DIVISION JUSTICE
ALFRED D. LERNER RECEIVES PUBLIC SERVICE AWARD
FROM HELLENIC LAWYERS ASSOCIATION
NEW YORK Alfred D. Lerner, counsel at Phillips Nizer LLP, will be honored with the 2005 Public Service Award by The Hellenic Lawyers Association. Judge Lerner will receive the award at a ceremony in New Yorks Flushing Meadow Park on November 18, 2005. Judge Lerner joined Phillips Nizer LLP in 2005 after serving 32 years on the bench in various capacities, including as Presiding Justice of the Appellate Division, First Department and Associate Justice of the Appellate Division, First and Second Departments. In June 2005, New York State Governor, George E. Pataki, appointed Judge Lerner to serve as Chair of the New York State Commission of Investigation.
As counsel, Judge Lerner concentrates his practice on appellate matters, and works in tandem with the firms Alternative Dispute Resolution practice. Judge Lerner is a graduate of New York Law School and the City University of New York, Hunter College.
