Jeremy D. Richardson Elected to the Partnership at Phillips Nizer LLP
The litigator will continue to counsel designers and manufacturers in the
fashion, apparel and childrenswear industries
New York, NY - Phillips Nizer LLP is pleased to announce that Jeremy D. Richardson has been elected to the partnership. Mr. Richardson, who resides in the Firms New York City office, joined Phillips Nizer in 1999 and is a member of the Fashion Practice. He will continue to represent designers and manufacturers, including those in the childrens apparel, furniture and accessories industry, and provide counsel regarding copyright and trademark claims and general contract disputes.
Some of Mr. Richardsons recent accomplishments include:
- Representing, as a member of the litigation team, a former licensee of a major American fashion designer against a luxury department store over fraudulently inflated chargebacks;
- Successfully enforcing copyright, trademark, trade dress and rights actions and successfully negotiating resolutions of enforcement actions; and
- Negotiating the terms and preparing the agreement between a client, a high-end childrens apparel designer, and a well-known retailer of childrens toys, apparel and accessories to put a shop-in-shop at the retailers Fifth Avenue flagship store.
Mr. Richardson has been a member of the American Apparel & Footwear Associations Childrenswear Executive Council since 2005. He received his J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law, and a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis. He began his legal career at an entertainment law firm where he primarily counseled recording artists in litigation and general matters.
