Thomas G. Jackson, Litigation partner and head of Technology Practice,
Joins Publishers in Washington, D.C. for Launch

New York, NY – Phillips Nizer LLP announces that Thomas G. Jackson, head of the Firm’s Technology Practice and member of the Litigation Department, has edited and contributed to the chapter, "A Framework for Managing Legal and Compliance Issues" in The Financial Impact of Cyber Risk: An Implementation Framework for CFOs being released on March 31, 2010 as part of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Homeland Security Standards Panel and Internet Security Alliance (ISA) joint initiative on the Financial Impact of Cyber Risk.  The Financial Impact of Cyber Risk focuses on the tools that corporate executives need to analyze the financial risks associated with cyber security and to make mitigation decisions based upon the needs of their businesses.  Mr. Jackson is a leader of the Chief Legal Counsel and Compliance Officer task group of the cyber risk project.  He is counsel to the ISA, who along with ANSI, will announce the release of the publication at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. on March 31 at 1:30 p.m.

Mr. Jackson devotes a substantial part of his practice to the areas of computer software licensing and acquisitions, information technology and security, privacy and computer crime, as well as trade association law and practice and antitrust litigation and counseling.  He concentrates his litigation practice in the fields of technology law, antitrust, class action defense, privacy and information law and complex commercial litigation.  Mr. Jackson has represented software developers and distributors, new media companies, Internet service and content providers and users of Internet-based products and services.  He has been involved in a wide variety of matters in the technology field, including the negotiation and drafting of software license and software development agreements, information technology services agreements, software distribution agreements and technology transfer agreements.  He has litigated and tried major cases for over 30 years, and has been involved in trials and litigated proceedings in the federal and state courts and before administrative agencies and tribunals.

Mr. Jackson is a member of the American Bar Association, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York  (The City Bar) and the Federal Bar Council.  He graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law with a J.D. in 1974, and is a magna cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College.  He is admitted to practice in the State of New York, the U.S. Supreme Court, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second, Fifth and the District of Columbia Circuit Courts, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
