Phillips Nizer Adds Matrimonial and Family Law Partner in New York and New Jersey02/08/2021
New York, NY (February 8, 2021) – Phillips Nizer is pleased to announce that matrimonial and family law attorney Louis Gerber has joined the firm as a partner in their New York and New Jersey offices.
Mr. Gerber joins Phillips Nizer from Kantrowitz, Goldhammer & Graifman, P.C.
Mr. Gerber represents clients in all areas of family law, including divorce, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, child custody and visitation, division of martial assets, child support, alimony and spousal maintenance agreements, paternity law, post-divorce modifications, parental relocation and domestic violence.
At Phillips Nizer, Mr. Geber is joining a growing Matrimonial and Family Law practice group in both New York and New Jersey. In 2020, the firm added partner Stephanie F. Lehman and counsel Fara K. Rodriguez, who have represented numerous high-net worth and other individuals through trial and appeals in matrimonial and family-related actions in both New York and New Jersey. “I am very excited to have the opportunity to grow the New York and New Jersey practices with Louis,” said Ms. Lehman. “He is a well-established practitioner in both jurisdictions and together I am hopeful to continue expanding Phillips Nizer’s wings in both states.”

Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Gerber served in the New York City Law Department as a Senior Counsel in the Special Litigation Unit. While there, he was trial counsel for high profile civil rights cases. He was also lead counsel for mass actions related to a 2007 midtown Manhattan steam rupture and was trial counsel in the 2003 Staten Island Ferry accident.
Mr. Gerber received his J.D. from Tulane Law School and his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin.
