Perry Galler, Managing Partner and Chair of the Firm's Executive Committee, has been a partner in the Litigation Department since 1981, having joined the firm in 1972 after graduating from New York University School of Law.

He has had wide and varied experience counseling and representing corporations, partnerships, individuals, closely-held business entities and not-for-profit corporations in sophisticated litigations at the trial and appellate levels, commercial arbitrations and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.  Representative areas of his practice include contract law, corporate disputes, defamation, fashion and textile industry matters, creditors’ rights, employment disputes, complex commercial lease controversies and construction.  He also heads the firm’s personal injury and wrongful death practice.

Mr. Galler has litigated in the State and Federal Courts in New York and elsewhere and in the New York Surrogate’s Court, and he has handled administrative proceedings before state and city agencies, including the Attorney General’s Office, the Department of Environmental Conservation, the State Liquor Authority, and the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs.  He has also handled numerous complex arbitrations and mediations, and in one case devised a procedure and conducted a successful “mini-trial” before a Federal judge using “baseball arbitration” rules, with attorney narratives in lieu of all testimony other than from the parties themselves.

He is a member of the AAA Panel of Arbitrators and has served as sole arbitrator and panel chairman in various arbitration proceedings.  He has been a speaker at the American Arbitration Association’s Arbitration Days and has addressed business leaders on the subject of alternative forms of dispute resolution.  Mr. Galler is also a member of the Legal Committee of the American Apparel and Footwear Association.
