Phillips Nizer Partner Scott Piekarsky Named to Prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates
06/24/2020Mr. Piekarsky, a prominent civil litigator in the firm’s Hackensack, New Jersey office, represents clients in general corporate and business law, professional liability, expert review, community association, real estate, chancery, commercial collections, probate and appellate law.
The American Board of Trial Advocates is a national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the right to civil jury trials. The invitation-only organization includes more than 7600 plaintiff and defense lawyers and judges in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Invited members must have tried at least 10 civil jury trials to conclusion and possess additional litigation experience.
In addition to his work as a trial attorney, Mr. Piekarsky is very active in professional development, ethics issues and mentoring. He is a member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Women in the Courts, which provides education to law students, the bench and bar on gender and LBGTQ issues. On that committee, he participated in preparation of the authors of a bench guide for municipal and superior court judges, providing guidance on topical issues such as religious garb. He is a former Master in the Justice Robert L. Clifford Inn of Court and a former Barrister in the Morris Pashman American Inn of Court.
