Phillips Nizer Secures Judgment Against Ian Schrager for Breach of Executive Search Agreements

Fischman secured summary judgment in favor our firm client, Rhodes Associates, against the Ian Schrager Company for breaches of two retainer agreements that expressly required Ian Schrager to pay for certain executive search and consulting services provided by the firm’s client.
Mr. Schrager’s company denied any liability and asserted counterclaims alleging that that Rhodes Associates breached these agreements and that its principal defamed him. The court rejected the Ian Schrager defenses and counterclaims, and ordered payment to the firm’s client under the contracts, with prejudgment interest since November 2019. The court also awarded our client its legal fees and costs.
