Helene Freeman to Discuss ADR and the Copyright Claims Board in Music Cases at the Music Business Association Conference

05/09/2022
Helene Freeman will speak on a panel at the Music Business Association’s Conference, which will be held on May 9-12 in Nashville, discussing, “What's Your Fight Song?: Alternative Dispute Resolution and the Copyright Claims Board in Music Cases.”

The presentation will offer tools to prevent, mitigate or efficiently resolve music disputes, with interest-based negotiation, mediation and facilitation; and discuss the new Copyright Claims Board (CCB) as an alternative to federal court for copyright disputes. Attendees will learn how to engage in adversarial situations more productively (and cheaply), gain an understanding of the CCB’s roles and procedures for case resolution; and how to negotiate in a way that minimizes conflict so everyone wins. Helene will be joined on the panel by Monica McCabe of the Copyright Claims Board.
