03/25/2026Phillips Nizer LLP is pleased to announce that Alan Behr, Chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice, has been appointed to the Genericide Subcommittee of the Famous and Well-Known Marks Committee of the International Trademark Association (INTA).
The Genericide Subcommittee plays a key role in monitoring and developing resources to assist brand owners in addressing the risk of loss of their trademarks and service marks due to the adoption of them by the public as ordinary nouns. The subcommittee will continue its important work within the Famous and Well-Known Marks Committee by supporting INTA members in protecting some of the most important marks worldwide.
Alan’s appointment reflects his continued leadership within INTA and his deep experience advising clients on complex trademark matters and in strategies to protect all forms of intellectual property.
