Phillips Nizer Closes Sale of Upper West Side Private School Building
08/03/2026Managing partner and real estate department chair Marc A. Landis and real estate associate Huyen Dang of Phillips Nizer represented Albert Togut as the bankruptcy trustee in the sale of a 38,000 square foot school on West 85th Street in Manhattan for $33.2 million. The former home of the Mannes College/New School, which went to market following the bankruptcy of Manhattan Country Day School, was acquired by the Geneva School of Manhattan following a spirited auction process which increased the price from the stalking-horse bid of $20 million. The transaction was featured in coverage by ConnectCRE, Real Estate News Today (podcast), West Side Rag and I Love the Upper West Side.
