Phillips Nizer Welcomes Justice Arthur F. Engoron as Senior Counsel

New York, NY — February 5, 2026 — Phillips Nizer is pleased to announce that the Honorable Arthur F. Engoron (Ret.) has joined the firm as Senior Counsel in its Litigation Practice.
Justice Engoron retired from the New York State Supreme Court, New York County, on December 31, 2025, following more than two decades of judicial service. Over the course of his career, he presided over a wide range of complex civil matters in one of the nation’s busiest trial courts, bringing deep experience in motion practice, discovery disputes, evidentiary issues, trials, and settlement proceedings.
Prior to his service on the Supreme Court, Justice Engoron served on the Civil Court of the City of New York and as an Acting Justice of the Supreme Court, New York County. Before joining the bench, he practiced law in New York and served for more than a decade as Principal Law Clerk to a Justice of the New York State Supreme Court, where he worked extensively on legal research, opinion drafting, and appellate matters.
At Phillips Nizer, Justice Engoron advises attorneys and clients on litigation strategy, case assessment, motion practice, and trial preparation. His perspective as a long-serving trial judge provides valuable insight into how courts evaluate arguments, manage cases, and approach resolution.
