Our cooperative and condominium attorneys serve as general counsel to more than 100 cooperative and condominium associations in the New York metropolitan area.
Our general counsel services include providing advice and guidance to Boards of Directors regarding common area issues, mortgages and other financings, contract and lease preparation and negotiation, construction issues, shareholder and unit owner defaults, dispute resolution and litigation services.
We maintain a full-service transfer department for individual unit sales and purchases, and a full-time default and landlord/tenant law department to streamline collection of arrears and foreclosure and sale of delinquent units. Our attorneys work closely with Board members and managing agents and attend both annual shareholder and, upon request, monthly Board meetings.
Our attorneys also represent various investors in condominium and cooperative properties, including sponsors and holders of unsold shares. Our cooperative and condominium attorneys have vast experience preparing and filing offering plans and amendments for conversion of rental properties to cooperative and condominium ownership.
